First of all PLASTER need not; probably should not be applied to plaster board for maximum results. It should be applied to a MESH.
Polystyrene is NON porous; Not very much but specific adhesives STICK to it.
My wonder is WHY, with the walls apparentle/ currently, being plaster; would you want the added steps, no matter what they are?
Beyond that; you don't detail the TYPE of polystyrene; IE: sheet. foam insulation sheet; etc. BTW, your location makes no difference.
With no offense meant at all; I'm constantly amazed that Plaster is still used anywhere on the planet. So many other similar/ more durable substances exist in 2007.

Yes quite a few right answers, You don't plaster to the floor unless you are tanking, (a type of waterproofing, normally a basement), with tanking the floor moisture cannot rise in the wall plaster because no water will bridge the floor screed and the materials used are very water resistant. In the answer to your question, there is normally a mould or skirting covering the gap at the bottom of the floor. Normally about 25-50mm/1-2 inches

Yes, it is possible but I'm not sure that it's a good idea as the polystyrene is unlikely to take the weight and come away from the wall over time.
Personally, I stay away from polystyrene altogether, almost on principle.

NO,HAS YOUR WALL GOT AN AIR GAP OR IS IT THE OLD SPANISH SOLID WALL BUILD.If it has an air gap inject insulation foam.If it is solid walled then cork tiles inside could do the trick, but remove the black mould with bleach first. You can batten the walls and insulate that way also.

no it wont work ...go to your local builders merchants ..there are lots in Spain ..as i have built there ..you can buy the insulated boards up to 100mm thick ..stick them on with the adhesives they supply ..which is mixed in a bucket ..if your walls are painted you will need to pva them and apply the boards before it dries completely ...you can then scrim the joints ..fill them and then paint them ..best with latex emulsion

I would fix platerboard onto the insulation, then skim.
Always best not to try to cut corners.
