MoveOn.Org is, of course, a politcal group that depends upon its membership for seeking its goal. MoveOn received 15,000 new membrs, and, $500,000 following the ad in the Times being held up at the Senate hearings almost 2 weeks ago.

I expect Republicans will use this to vilify the Democrats, instead of limiting the disdain to MoveOn itself, but, from a trategic point of view, who wins?

Actually, the bottom line is, are the majority of Americans more interested in a swift resolution to the war in Iraq and saving lives, or are they more interested in preserving the honor of the general through denouncing an independent political ad and censoring first amendment rights. I would think most Americans will come to the right conclusion.

Moveon will, of course. What a stupid move on behalf of the Republicans. While I didn't support an ad that they ran in the NYT, I certainly would not have made it such a focal point which in turn would make moveon even larger than it already was. Whoever came up with that marketing ploy, should have known better, IMHO.

My concern is not so much moveon.org, but the power and money behind it. Soros, must be reeling with laughter because the Republicans have played right into his hands. The man represents danger, is no true friend, and is well on his way to owning the Democratic party and it's leaders.

Republicans will not have to vilify the democrats the American public will do that for them. MoveOn is a reprehensible group and for them to denigrate General Patreos(?) in that way was wrong. I feel that it not only denigrated the General it denigrated all of the troops now serving. Any Senator or Representative who says they agree with the ad or who does not condemn the ad it also saying the same thing. I have noted who has either agreed or not condemned and I will not be voting for them, I also will do what I can to help their opponent win the next election.

Heck, even the liberal Washington Post didn't believe the MoveOn Ad. Unfortunately, there are always blind followers for every cause.

MoveOn started when the Republicans were impeaching Clinton. It's a pro Democrat organization, actively going after the Republicans. That said, Petraeus is a military General, and not a politician nor is he running for any office the last I looked. The Republicans will milk it for everything they can.

Luckily for the Republicans, the Libs at MoveOn.org aren't savvy enough to remember the adage, "He who has not learned from history is doomed to repeat it."

Guess what? It's 1972 again for the Democrats.

Back in '72, the much reviled President Nixon was re-elected by a landslide even though we were mired in Vietnam. Why? Because even though a lot of people didn't like Nixon, they saw him as better than the ultra-Left McGovern.

To any Liberals reading this: you will lose 2008 because you didn't learn your lesson in 1972. Stop the childish antics and get back to the type of positive vision and creative thinking JFK would have admired. Then... you can win.

Any time you can get millions of people to say check out MoveOn.org regardless of the controversy that gets them there you have a chance at getting their support .
MoveOn has all sorts of stories for people to review and read about .

So the Ad has gotten a message across to people who feel betrayed by not only this administration but those who also blame this congress .

It's called "Give'm enough rope and they will hang themselves", a very old adage.

Don't blame anyone except the childish leaders of MoveOn, they practice the worst kind of politics. They have gone uncontested so long that they thought they could get away with anything. Now they have let the whole country see just how sophomoric that they are, they have killed off the impression that they had created with the public, of some fresh, young, innocent do-gooders. Now everyone sees them as name-calling, temper tantrum-throwing, whiny babies.

Republicans will. MoveOn.org is widely seen as a group of wackos that even the Democrats distance themselves from.

The Petraeus polling numbers have skyrocketed and the Dems had their pride handed to them this week. Yes the drinkers of the Kool Aide did contribute more however the NYT ombundsman said the ad was not proper.

MoveOn.org so came out the winner in this farce. I'm ashamed of the democrats for allowing themselves to get pulled into it.

They need to start taking the high rode and live the mud wrestling to the Republicans who obviously are better mud wrestlers.
