Is Mars a dead planet? I hear people say that a lot, if so when do you think it died? And will we ever find out if there were some other type of things living there?

Mars is pretty much considered a dead planet in the sense that it seems to at one time may have had water on the surface and a thicker atmosphere. Mars is smaller than Earth it has a lower gravity and was not able to hold on to it.

Mars may have microscopic life on it but it it is unlikely to be on the surface. Mars also lacks the strong magnetic field that protects the Earth from harmful solar and cosmic radiation. Life has been found on Earth to be thriving in places that it was thought would have been impossible for it to survive.

Mars has as of now no life, though water seems to have been discovered. What life forms if any existed earlier cannot be known without further exploration.
