I think on person's justice could be another person's crime. Justice to me is closure and a feeling of peace over a situation.
As for righteousness or power...hmmm...that totally depends on what kind of person one desires to be and how one would use either to better oneself and those around them, if not the world. Both righteousness and power can be seen as"good" or "bad" depending on how they are used.
IMHO, goodness and strength often coexists so there isn't a need to choose.
I think Lao Tzu said it best:
"Understanding others is knowledge
Understanding oneself is enlightenment
Conquering others is power,
Conquering oneself is strength;
Contentment is wealth,
Forceful conduct is willfulness;
Not losing one's rightful place is to endure
To die but not to be forgotten is longevity."
Of course, that's just MHO.
Have a great day ya'll!

I'll answer your second question first. To be good (generally) is to be strong. Don't confuse strong with power. Being good doesn't always "protect" us from miscreants, but that's my choice, & I can handle the bumps.
I think of justice in the legal arena. I don't believe it exists there, & it's due to power--as power manipulating the law to its prejudice & bias.
In human relationships, "justice" is rarely served to the benefit of both. To accomplish justice, one needs to truly know who is responsible, & since that's hardly ever truly understood, we may place "blame" where it isn't deserved. I do the best that I can to "sort out" what I feel was an injustice done to me, to understand what isn't always understandable, & if necessary, distance myself from the person if nothing else works.
I've seen people use the word "justice" when what they really mean is revenge.
I feel better about myself, when I seek to understand, if that's what you mean by being "good." I would absolutely never seek power. I consider it a route to abuse.
You have a wonderful day, too.

What is justice? There is a question for all the ages, my friend! :-))
Justice is the equitable distribution of consequences for actions, and resources to each as needed, I think.
The trouble arises when one attempts to define "equitable" and "need."
I prefer to seek righteousness instead of power. As Lord Acton said, "Power tends to corrupt; absolute power corrupts absolutely."
Should the righteous seek power? Can they do so and remain righteous? Perhaps by keeping what is just always in mind...
I would prefer to be both good and strong. Perhaps strength in goodness is the way for the righteous to seek power, and remain just.

Men are so tortured on this issue. Gender politics causes so much suffering for men. The need to be strong. No one 100% strong all of the time and no one is 100% weak all of the time.
Power and the need for it is often related to the feeling of powerlessness. Powerlessness though is a perception.

An interesting question. I can't answer the first part, but we should seek righteousness, and it's better to be good.

seek power!
"it is not enough to do the best thing or the good thing but rather what is required"
so not all the time you need to be good,we also need to be strong and to be practical, and try to see the world today it is being led by strong men and not by good.we seek for glory,we look for progress and being if you are only good you can't attain these.

On the purpose for justice: 'Peace is more important than all justice; and peace was not made for the sake of
justice, but justice for the sake of peace: Martin Luther (1483-1546) '
"The idea of creating systems designed to threaten, coerce, and kill, and to imbue
such agencies with principled legitimacy, and not expect them to lead to wars, genocides,
and other tyrannical practices, expresses an innocence we can no longer afford to
indulge." - Butler D. Shaffer Professor, Southwestern University School of Law June
9, 2003

Strength with no justice: ''If a war be undertaken for the most righteous end, before the resources of peace
have been tried and proved vain to secure it, that war has no defense, it is a
national crime.": Charles Eliot Norton - (1827-1908) American educator, writer,
and editor who founded the Nation (1865)
=
The need to be good: "To act without clear understanding, to form habits without investigation, to follow
a path all one's life without knowing where it really leads -- such is the behavior
of the multitude.": - Mencius - [Mengzi Meng-tse] (c.371 - c.288 B.C.) Chinese Confucian
philosopher
=
Not being inhuman: "Tolerance implies a respect for another person, not because he is wrong or even
because he is right, but because he is human." - John Cogley Source: Commonwealth,
24 April 1959
=
Why self control: "Not to forgive is to be imprisoned by the past, by old grievances that do not permit
life to proceed with new business. Not to forgive is to yield oneself to another's
control... to be locked into a sequence of act and response, of outrage and revenge,
tit for tat, escalating always. The present is endlessly overwhelmed and devoured
by the past. Forgiveness frees the forgiver. It extracts the forgiver from someone
else's nightmare.": - Lance Morrow
=
To maintain humanity in self, a difference in meaning for strength and power: "To love. To be loved. To never forget your own insignificance. To never get used
to the unspeakable violence and the vulgar disparity of life around you. To seek
joy in the saddest places. To pursue beauty to its lair. To never simplify what
is complicated or complicate what is simple. To respect strength, never power.
Above all, to watch. To try and understand. To never look away. And never, never,
to forget. " - Arundhati Roy
