I have an HP dv1000 laptop and as i was installing printer drivers the Laptop hung and the screen went blank. I have restarted the machine many time and it boots ok but the screen is completely blank. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this problem. The laptop is around 18 months old.

Any advice would be much welcomed.

Cheers, Rick

Your notebook isn't that old - from around '04 or '05 - i'm not real tech - so what i'd do is start the pc w/ the XP starter dvd inside - i'd reinstall the operating system - in this manner - u won' t lose any of your files - actually - u may be able to go back to a "restore point" - if u can get back to a restore point - i'd try that first - good luck
