The birth of my son's daughter. As I watched him view her in the nursery for her first bath; behind dark sunglasses I cried. He glowed! It was the most memorable moment of my life. He turned and looked at me and we just nodded, tears were rolling down my cheeks....he had on a red polo shirt I will never forget he was the happiest I ever saw him in his life. It was and shall forever remain priceless. He was killed in a car accident one day short of a month later. Call this Bitter Sweet.

Something that my kids still laugh about is the popcorn episode.
We were on a road trip to one of our favourite holiday spots. I had made up a big batch of caramel popcorn for the kids to munch on during the trip. Toward the bottom you always get unpopped corn and bits and pieces that stick in your teeth.
I didn't want it going all over the car so I told the kids to carefully pass the nearly empty tray over to me.
Why I did what I did I cant say!!! I wound down the car window ,we were going about 100 kph which is probably 80 mph ( I think) and TOSSED the contents out the window!!! You can guess what happened cant you. At 100 kph the wind just blew the whole contents back toward the car and my son had his rear wind OPEN. Well, you can guess what happened I had 3 kids and the inside of the car covered in unpopped corn and pits and pieces.
I had a real shock because the kids screamed as they were stung by the unpopped corn and my hubby and I didn't realise what had happened it was so quick.
After we pulled over and I saw the kids we all just burst out in hilarious gales of laughter. Too bad about keeping the car clean. The kids have never let me live that down. LOL
Another happy story was the day I went with my first daughter to a bridal shop so she could try on some gowns. When she came out in one I burst out in tears and started to cry. I just couldnt help myself. But they were the best kind of tears. Happy ones

It's so difficult to pick just one because every day I strive to find something enjoyable to do. Vacations spring into mind...the beach trip, the trip to Dollywood, or just local discoveries...the wildflower pilgrimage into the Smokies every April, finding a new museum, driving into the mountains and finding waterfalls, getting a picture in the mail of a new doll I want to add to my collection, seeking out the ultimate fried chicken recipe, or even reading. I take spells on my subjects; one week I read every book I could find on veterinarians and their practices, another week on Indian Heritage (Sacajawea and Cynthia Ann Parker), and now I'm on discovering more about TN (my home). Jonesborough, Gatlinburg, watching my "Heartland Series" videos and touring the Smokies (start at Sugarlands Visitor Center). My story is still in progress...and I'm enjoying every second of it. Hope this made you smile at some point. Have a great day!

I have a great story from just last week! First, a bit of history. My dad is 69 and has PD. He has a fall or two every day. I work with him at his home a couple days each week. The other day we were doing some bills and such in his office. My mom was in the other room doing some reading. My dad got up from his chair and fell. Nothing serious though. My mom came running into the room. My dad looked at my mom and he pointed at me and said "she pushed me!"!!! I almost fell of my chair laughing! We were all laughing!

Perhaps not the happiest, but certainly the funniest memory I have:
My mom and I were in the kitchen talking when my sister came home from school with this shocked look on her face...mom asked "what's wrong?" My sis went into a long explanation of how a school kid explained what "sex" is...my sister was horrified. She turned to mom and asked, "is that true?" Mom said, "yep, pretty much." My sister then said, increduously, "You mean you've done that 4 times (4 kids)?" Mom looked up at the ceiling, with the smile only she could pull off, "Oh, at least." ! I died laughing, and am sitting here laughing remembering it! thanks for the refresher course! Love and peace, goldwing

Trying to make a good impression, and show off my new cooking skills in the kitchen, I put the chicken, stuffed with rice and chopped onion,in the oven and waited for it to cook, after about 50mins there was a horrendous bang coming from the kitchen, I was just in time to see the last bits of chicken splattering against the walls,. The oven door had blown off(the glass inside one) and chicken everywhere.
I was still finding the odd bit of chicken for weeks after !
Well, how was I, a novice, supposed to know you should have cooked the rice first.
We went out for Pizza....a happy ending.

My Great- Aunt came to visit us one Christmas night for supper and at the time I was seven years old and my parents had bought me a little black poodle puppy. My Great-Aunt after over indulging on the turkey and Christmas goodies decided to go to the loo but as she rose out of her chair she accidentally broke wind very loudly, this really startled my puppy and he yelped and jumped up her leg and fastened his sharp little teeth into the elastic of her copious pink bloomers and just hung there by his teeth! Took us ages to get him to let go, don't know who looked the more stunned him or her. We were all helpless laughing and I don't think any of us have forgotten the look on her face to this day bless her. Thank goodness he didn't jump and attach his jaws any higher up it might have been very painful!

When I was nine years old we didn't have a TV, not many people did. The lady who lived next to my Nan did and she invited me to go there to watch the Queens Coronation. It was black and white, a blurry picture, and poor quality sound, but it was the greatest moment of my life. Made more so by the fact that I had one up on my siblings and school friends !
