They may still smell something of the old nest there, and are attracted to it. Or there may be a new nest started outside of that window. Go back and look closely. Look in all the nooks, tight spots, under covers, behind shutters, etc. Wasps can get into small spots that you wouldn't normally think of. If there's a gap, they may even get in behind the siding.

Is this a job that perhaps environmental health at your local council can help with. I would give them a call and maybe they can point you in the right direction. I've always found them to be very helpful. I don't think I dare tackle wasps single handedly as they can be a nightmare and even deadly if they all turn on you.

Be careful whatever you decide to do.

They are not coming "in" through the window.
They are "attracted" to the light outside where they are trying
to get to.
So, somehow, they are still coming from your loft, through
other openings or cracks, to get to the windows.
Getting rid of the nest is one thing. Filling in all the small
openings on the outside, will prevent them from coming back.
Get this done before winter sets in. They are looking for a
winter home. Get out the caulking gun. <}:-})

maybe the nest wasn't completely destroyed & they have set up a new one.Talking of jam pots, if you put an empty jam jar,
with just a little jam in,half fill with water & leave on the window sill, the wasps will go in it & drown.

Firstly, you need to make sure you caulk up all the cracks and holes. Secondly, buy some peppermint oil and spray that all around the window. It will keep them away, because they do not like the smell.
