Pump ballast to keep the center of mass below the intersection of the axial and longitudinal support lines.

But what in hell is this doing in philosophy? I come over here from the Science and Math groups to get -away- from such questions for a while. Am I being stalked? ☺

Usually this is achieved by pumping ballast from one part of the ship to another during the operation. This ballast counteracts the weight gain/loss of the cargo and keeps the ship stable.
