If the woman knew ANYTHING, she'd know that Buddhists don't worship Buddha. Then she has the nerve to say that God was "providing" when it rained on them. I would have smacked the God right out of her if I were there. I hope God votes her out of heaven.

See, your error is that you are mistaking the kind of people who would be on things like "Survivor" for actual human beings. They are not. They are - at best - the leftovers of unsuccessful cloning experiments, whose brains, never much to start with, have been surgically removed and replaced by mice in wheels.

Poor mice.

I too am Catholic, and we are brought up not to worship in any other religion. But that wasn't the point of the ceremony. It was pointed out in the beginning for that reason. It was a welcoming ceremony. Not a religious ceremony. She is not the one that irritated me, it was that blond that refused to put her hands together. She was rude. As for thanking the Lord for rain. I saw nothing wrong with that either. Maybe you should do a little praying, maybe God would provide you with a new attitude.

I wouldn't say that I was necessarily *offended* by what she did - it was rather extreme what she did as she was plainly told that the ceremony was a *welcoming* ceremony.

My thoughts turned to - what if she were invited to a Catholic wedding - or a Jewish wedding - something like that? Would she behave the same way? She was VERY disrespectful IMO and I think that while she had every right to FEEL the way she did, she should've kept her feelings to herself and still participated anyway - it was the *right* thing to do..

As far as God voting her right outta heaven - I'm sure the Bible has specific limitations on being judgemental and hypocritical - in other words - what goes around, comes around Baby....

Well Buddhists believe in karma so IF it is real then why be concerned with what the woman did?

I thought one of the basic teachings of buddhism was tolerance. Just because someone walks out of a ceremony shouldn't cause someone else to go over the edge and wish evil things on them.

She has every right NOT to participate in something she doesn't believe in and a true Buddhist who has reached their enlightenment would not condemn that person for doing so.

I don't watch Survivor, but stuff like that irks the crap out of me.
I'm a Christian, but not the in-your-face.... everyone-but-me-is-going-to-hell variety. It drives me up the wall when some Christians won't show respect for other religions, but if someone would dare do that to them.... oh, it'd just be horrible!!!! Discrimination!!! *insert eye roll* Excuse me, but the God I worship teaches tolerance and love.
To me that's just about as bad as that moron Phelps who goes around the US protesting at funerals.
