My Mum is a twin (non-identical) and her Mother had 3 sets of non-identical twins. My Dad also has non-identical twin brothers. What are my chances of having twins?

I have twins. From what I've been told that the non-identical or Fraternal as they're called gene is passed down from mother to daughter. The identical twin, is when the egg splits
as where the other twins are two separate eggs. I have 3 daughters and none of them have had twins, mine are fraternal.

Since it is fraternal twins the chances are higher. There is some evidence that releasing multiple eggs is somehow genetic. If ti were identical then it is just chance, however, my mother in law is an identical twin and got pregnant with twins but lost one.

I have fraternal twins. None of my parents, aunts or uncles is a twin. However, I have two first cousins with twins also. My husband also learned that there are fraternal twins somewhere on his side of the family.

Your chances of having twins are greater than average.

No, but my mother married a man who was the son of a twin, and then had twins herself.

I KNOW the tendency is supposed to be in the female line, but there are a LOT of twins in my paternal line...guess those men were somehow very good at finding twin-bearers to marry.
