She is very bright and verbal.
Language learning begins with listening, and she was listening even before she was born. If you remember, before she actually said words, she was practicing the sounds she heard.
If you watch her carefully, you can see her little brain ticking away as she takes in as much as she can. She understands way more than she can say, but that will rapidly change. The more she learns the faster she will learn--the process excelerates exponentially!

MY daughters' first word was, "doggy". She said it as plain as day, at 9 and a1/2 months old. She didn't start walking until a day before her first birthday. But she would use one word statements, "good", "daddy", "mom", "cup" and so on. By the time she was a year old, she was communicating clearly, and most 'outsiders' could understand her..

every child is different. there is no set "time" for crawling, walking, talking, etc.
my now 5 year old was talking at age 10 months (and she was born 7 weeks early!!)
be proud of your daughter for reaching that milestone. it's a fun time for you and your daughter. they get so excited when they learn a new word and people react to it!!

how cute! my daughter started talking quite young and now at 2and 1/2 she strings together sentence after sentence, sings songs all day long, and frequently cracks me up with the things she comes out and says, and yes you have to be so careful, they most certainly are parrots!!!
