I'm a minority. I have pride in myself, and the racial groups that make me unique. I don't think I'm better than any other group, but I still have pride in myself.

I've noticed at times that some people believe that pride and supremacy are the same thing, and that:
A. You can't have pride in yourself, and believe in equality.
B. That all groups aren't entitled to pride.

Now I know certain people within certain racial groups do believe in supremacy (And they may add flare to their views by not only thinking they're better, but having hateful views towards other groups), but I find it odd that there's certain groups in our society that if they so as mention that they have pride in the fact that they're a certain race: They're slandered, and considered racist at the drop of a dime.

Does anyone else agree? And no: I'm not a troll.

It has to do with the past groups that were/are associaty with certain sayings.

For a long time when someone would use the phrase 'white power' it had NOTHING to with being proud of were you came from it had almost always to with being a racist and hating others that were not white..

So when/if someone uses it now others are afraid that they are connected with the groups of the past or even with the ones that are still around..

It depends on WHY you have pride in yourself. I don't really connect my pride to the color of my skin. I really don't understand why anyone would. Possibly you have the concept of 'culture' and 'race' mixed up. It's fine to be proud of you heritage. But your race...that's really irrelevant to who you are. It's just...skin color...
