i do not support clinton or any of his policies.
however, in regard to "impeached due to personal malfeasance" i do not believe consensual, personal sexual interaction is a question worth asking about under oath in that instance.
he did, lie, however, and was right impeached.
he was also rightly exonerated.
but as far as his policies go? way too right-wing.

I am somewhat in a quandry as to what exactly is meant by you and- many others on this Q&A- by the term ¨left-wing liberal¨. Many of my replies have been rudely received with insults(usually with unorthodox spelling and idiosyncratic grammar) accompanied by this label, ¨left-wing liberal¨ (which ,I imagine ,was intended by them -not you! - to be one more insult, along with syphilitic,dope-fiend,crazed hippie,etc.etc.).
Ever since communism was practically universally discredited along with the fall of the Soviet Union and the Soviet bloc, the terms¨ left¨ and ¨right¨ in politics hardly have any bearing on our society any more.
As to liberal,I take it that a liberal is one who adheres to liberalism, for which the Encyclopedia Britannica says ¨...political beliefs emphasizing freedom of the individual from external restraint..based on the ideal of the free market and( 'seeking') to limit the powers of government through such devices as federalism, bicameralism(that's the Congress and the Senate, BTW) and the separation of powers (well, that's the Executive ,the Judicial and the Legislative)....¨
So, one would think, wouldn't one, that every single citizen of our country has a legal covenant with the United States to be a follower of liberalism, which is to say,a LIBERAL!
Why are so many people using ¨liberal¨as an insult?
Why is it assumed that only Democrats are liberals?
I think of myself as very conservative on many issues (not a NEOconservative,a proponent of an ideology I find dangerous and unconstitutional) and not a partisan of any established political group. But I must obviously, by definition, be a liberal too. I can't see anyway out of being a loyal citizen of my country, the U.S., without being a liberal!
There are highly educated people in both parties and among the independents too. Likewise,no one party has a monopoly on ignorance and crass stupidity. It should also be remembered that very highly educated people can also be woefully stupid about some things, although extremely competent in other fields.(Clinton would be a case in point,a very intelligent ,well educated, extremely competent president who presided over 8 years of relative well being for our country but who was monumentally stupid in his private life-not to mention his execrable taste in women-but really, that was Hilary's problem, not ours.)
INTELLIGENT people, highly educated or not,try not to gut-react to events but do try and wait till most of the evidence is in, rather than making snap judgements based on their emotional need to ¨belong¨ to a side.
So ,I respectfully beg to disagree with your premise that most intellectuals are left wing liberals. Just as all
the cretinous low brow creeps are not all on the(I guess it would have to be) ´right-wing illiberal¨ side either.
Bu please, those of you who are addicted to calling people ¨anti-american liberals¨,refrain from doing so. It's a meaningless contradiction in terms.
( it would be similar to calling somebody an ¨anti royalist monarchist¨)

Most of them have a messiah complex, where they believe they know what's best for everybody, but are themselves above the standard and do not have to adhere to it. And being the liberal democrats are the party of big government, "we know what's best for you, because you aren't smart enough to know so", I'd say this is a big reason why they are lefties. Also, most celebrities are driven by political correctness and constantly worry about offending people and possible fans Considering the liberal democrats again adhere to this PC driven ideology, it's no surprise that celebrities adhere to this as well. There are many studies that show the ideologies of people in media and celebrities do not share the same values as mainstream Americans. Which is mostly right of center.

Because they tend to make school a career instead of going out into the working world getting real jobs, or starting their own businesses.

Thoughtful people that read books, enjoy life, and are respectful of others tend to be liberal, that's why.

But.......there is a disconnect between being highly educated and the ability for critical thinking......
colleges tend to run liberal........I haven't heard a a B.A. in conservative arts........
sad to say that there is a correlation between those who can do....work
those who can't do.......teach....

I think you mean pseudo-intellectuals. They only think they are superior to the rest of the people. The truth is they are just to weak willed to resist the indoctrination that liberal professors put them through. I haven't met a liberal yet that will use his "intellectual superiority" to question his own political philosophy.
