Puerto Rico is considered property of the USA and falls under all its legal rights and authority; therefore, any effects of the UN applied to the USA would also apply to Puerto Rico.

UN can't do nothing about PR status. They will only acknowledge that PR is territory of the US.
The Congress decides what to do with Puerto Rico.

Well I've always been told that Puerto Rico has it about as good as it can get in regards to status. It is a U.S. protectorate meaning no one better mess with them and yet I don't think they pay taxes to the federal government.....
