people are capable of believing anything, and the power of our minds is unlimited, so if I believe a color is lucky for me then my mind will dismiss any bad luck that I have, when I wear my lucky color, and only focus on the good things that happen, therefore enforcing my belief
all beliefs work this way, which is why they should be examined all the time

There are many people who would have others believe that one can have a "lucky" color, or that colors represent human beliefs, thoughts, hopes and more.

I think colors are just that... colors. I've heard many tales of the significance of various colors, but then those tales get knocked out by hearing another from another source. For example, as far as I know, black is a color of mourning in the West, yet in many Eastern countries, white is a color of mourning.

Green = growth, blue = hope, white = purity, red = passion, yellow = cowardice, purple = royalty, etc. etc. etc.
I guess you can take it or leave it. One thing I can almost guarantee is that during the rest of your life you will hear many different representations for colors than those I just wrote!

White light is uniform undifferentiated. Color makes differences out of the non-different.

and to your second question, I don't believe that luck comes from colors, but from ones on thinking and actions... we make our own luck.

I know that when I wear certain colors they instill more confidence in myself! I wouldn't say they were lucky?

Color tells us when the fruit is ripe.

And that is no small thing.
