Tomb Raider: Anniversary (need help)?

Question

I am trying to get past the scene where you have to beat the two centarian horses.

I have tried every tactic i know of. I finally pulled one shield from one of them but still gave no damage to the man from there on.

What is he best way to win that battle? I welcome any advise.

You have to pull the shield off them (with the grapple once you've stunned them, from the inside) and then use it to reflect their petrification ray back at them, and shoot the buggery out of them once they're stone.
That is if you haven't hurled your controller at the wall in complete frustration first...
