No. Stalingrad was the first time the german army was forced to fight within the confines of a city. The german army made the situation worse for themselves by bombing Stalingrad and creating conditions that the Russian army put to good use. I never supported Communism but have every respect for the Russian men AND WOMEN who fought and died in Stalingrad. Note if you blow up a city, you only create rubble and obstructions. Only Hollywood can create clear channels.

Yes, the SS was an elite fighting unit.
The Germans used them everywhere during WW 2.
