i've got examine a pair of surveys on that concern and the outcomes have been you will possibly get better mileage with a/c off utilizing around city in spite of the undeniable fact that it did not fairly say how plenty. With the cost of gas it fairly is advisable to replenish and write mileage down and run a week or so with a/c off and do same with a/c on and analyze mpg. The survey did prepare there wasn't plenty differance at highway speeds via fact the dwelling house windows down interfered with the areodynamics of the motor vehicle.

It is an accepted practice because the older air conditioners had pumps that took a lot of power away from the engine because they are direct driven so it was considered to turn them off before your engine so they would not impede the engine starting the next time. ~~

It's not a problem to cut the car off when the A/C is on, but it does put some additional strain on the engine/battery when you try to start the car with the A/C on.

I always make sure that aircon is off before shutting down. Its a throw back to my aviation days, when you completely unload the engine before shutdown. Its the same when starting.
