I have a 6 month old corn snake that used to have a feeding problem. I had her as a non feeder (I already had one snake and know how to make difficult feeders eat) and over the last month she has been taking one large pinkie wiggled in front of her every week. She now strikes and constricts her food. I last fed her 4 days ago.
She is usualy very placid but when she came out earlier she put her nose against my finger and opened her mouth wide, and bit me, then she did the same thing on her own body, and actualy bit herself. She then tried to bite me a couple of times (i'm talking slowly opening her mouth and putting teeth on skin, then biting, there is no striking going on here, i'm stopping her as soon as she has opened her mouth wide) and also tried to bite herself. After a short while I put her back in her Vivarium, but i'm a little worried she will bite herself again.
Does anyone know why this is happening?
