Good question.
Maybe as we have evolved we are actually using less of it.
The human race constantly seems to invent things that take away the need for us to think.
I suspect thousands of years ago, man used more of his brain capacity than we do now.

When I look around me, I mostly think only 1% is being used.

Human beings are capible of being extremely intelligent. And as a whole we are very very intelligent. Look at the things we have invented and done for ourselves. The computer wasn't created by a no brain. It has a brain that was manufactured and thought up by human intelligence.I think we only use a small percentage of our brain but we are capible of so much more. Even look at a picture of a human brain. Consider how something that looks like that, actually thinks and controls us.It is unbelievable. The human brain is amazing!!

The truth is : that we can only use 1% and 10% the most(good percentage). The number reason is: we just don't know how to utilize it.

And another reason why such mass is: to proportionately fill the space allocated for the brain and balance it.

And truly it's a great work of a Mighty Designer and Creator God, that He is the only One knows its design and complication. Amen.

That the 10% crap might be a myth? Some of the brain is on auto pilot, and work on its own, like the part that controls the breathing, and heart beating, and processes the 5 senses.
I bet that is more than 10%.

How do you know we only use 10% of our brains? Is there a study that you quote where they have show that is true?

It is an old wive's tale that we only use 10% of our total mental capacity.

This is a myth long since debunked, and seems to date back to comments made over a hundred years ago. We do not use 'only 10%' of our brain!
This false claim crops up again and again, often quoted by proponents of ESP and other woo-woo stuff. Here is a link to one of the many excellent sites that utterly trash it!
