Wait. Define "constipation". If your baby is straining while trying to go and can't, or just passes little pebbles after a lot of pushing - that's constipation. If he used to go three times a day and is now down to once every three days, that's not.
If he's breastfed, he's not constipated. It just means that his body is pretty much using everything he's getting, and it's just going to take him longer to go.
If he's bottlefed, and straining to try to go, but can't. Try this: try taking his temperature rectally. That should stimuate him to go. (It may lead to one REALLY REALLY full diaper too!)
If it does not, you need to consult his pediatrician RIGHT AWAY. He *could* have an intestinal blockage, which would need surgery.
DO NOT give Karo syrup or water or tea or anything like that. There's no evidence that it works, and Karo syrup can be dangerous to an infant. Tummy massage is not a good idea until it's determined whether or not there's a blockage. If there's a blockage, massage can make it rupture.

If the baby is breastfed, it's not unusual to not see a bowel movement for a week at a time or more. You don't say how long it's been since the baby has gone, whether the baby is in distress or if he/she is breastfed. Those are all factors. Talk to your pediatrician.

If he is drinking fully breast milk then you dont need to be worry because sometimes bm can cause the baby 14 or more days without bm. As long as the poo is soft and dont cause him pain then it is ok. But if your baby is on formula then please seek the pediatrician help. May be they will give some constipation formula.

Standard answer: a baby-size glycerine suppository or a small piece of soap up the butt will make him do a dooey in 5-15 minutes.

You need to talk to your pediatrician. If you are not breast feeding, the baby might be allergic to the formula, but it could be a more serious problem. Constipation for a baby that age is not normal.

my bub would generally oly go about every 10 days, i was told this is normal if just on milk, generally they are not constipated if only on milk, constipation is not how regular but if it is not a smooth painless motion, but is hard to tell since most babies make a fuss and cry a bit when they do go.... take him to the docs and just check, sugar water will get him to go though.

got the same problem. my baby is 2,5 month and he still has the same problem u got, he can;t go on hes own sometimes. But i feed formula, i start with Enfamil, but now we using NAN( i think it's like sourmilk or something like that, it's a green bottle) but it does help him to go everyday on his own.
if u breastfeed him then u have to talk about it with ur doctor.

You get a piece of parsley and dip the end in oil. Stick it gently up your baby’s backside and pull it in and out. Make sure you don’t stand directly in front of your baby when you do this and have a towel underneath. Guaranteed to work.

an old trick. put 1/2 ounce of Karo white syrup into his bottles each time you feed him until he goes. If however he has been constipated for more than a couple of days at his age I would say take him to the pediatrician.
