You guessed right. The answer is no because when it comes down to it he does not have the guts or the clout to face down the Republican congressmen who will have to stand for reelection in 2008. He only has one all abiding principle, political expediency.

I hope he vetoes it. It's an irresponsible bill.

I read an article on CNN's website about this issue. Bush needs to get his priorities straight, he went wrong in the war, cause he is power hungry and its getting to his head. He is dismissing every other issue that needs some attention too, though the War is very important but as a nation we need to bring other issues to the light. What bush does war wise we can't do jack **** about it. Just hope and pray all the troops come home safely and come home soon. I think bush should pass this bill, even though he said he is going to veto it. I saw Micheal Moore's movie on the U.S. Healthcare called "Sicko" its an awesome movie, I highly recommend it. I believe though like in Europe and such that we pay more taxes to have free health care. I am willing to pay more taxes to get free health care, even though I don't make a lot of money. Then, young children can get all the medical care they need and for free! Also, when I was reading the article on CNN about bush going to veto the bill, they said the funding for it would be from raising the ciggarette tax....I found that really strange. Lets help provide health care for kids.....oh and to fund it lets raise ciggarette taxes BRILLIANT!!! NOT!!!! Everyone always tells us Ciggarettes are bad and can kill, so the governent, should raise tax on a killing habit, and use the money to help kids, it just seems weird how that works, I am all about helping the kids get health care but just the way to get it funded is bizzare. Take Care!

oh puhlease...its the same liberal issue over and over again that no one on the left seems to pay attention to or care about...its called WHO PAYS FOR IT. this program was expanded by the pelosi/reid regime much more beyond what it was intended and creates de facto socialized medicine. if you want a front line assesment of how failed the billary health insurance plan and welfare schemes like this one are, talk to any doctor that has to take payments from the government for services preformed. trust me on this one liberal, youll get an earful....
once again a liberal in need of a fact checker...yawn.....

I hope he vetoes it. Parents who are making $60,000 a year don't need government help to buy insurance for their kids.
