Something to do with the electricity supply or the mobile phone system perhaps. I can feel it in my nervous system...

This is a serious question. Thanks :-)

Thanks for replies. I travel around a lot and I've experienced this in various parts of the UK and Ireland. So I thought it might be some kind of general thing to do with the electricity supply or the mobile phone network perhaps. It's something I can feel not hear--a kind of increase of tension between 7 am and 1 am of the following morning.

Economy 7 electricity tariff. You can get cheaper electricity during the night, so you can set washing machines, for example, to come on during the night.
This reduces peaks in demand during the day that may put excessive demand on the National Grid.
There are also night storage heaters, which use the electricity at night to heat up a cabinet full of bricks, (I kid you not) which then give off their heat during the day. Nice idea, but they are not really hot enough!
Not sure how you feel it in your nervous system though....

There was a thing in the paper about a certain town (can't remember which) in England turn their street lights off late at night to save energy. This doesn't really help with the 7am unless the lights still come on for a little while in the mornings.
It's not the white meter type low rate electricity system is it? That probably needs to change over somehow?

Economy 7 electric meter. Changes from day to night rate and back again. Other possiblity is time controlled central heating or hot water.

Its probably a device within range that emitts a UHF
(ultra high frequency) that you are sensitive to. I am the same, I can hear if a Fax machine activates within about 50 Metres. Without knowing exactly where you live its hard to answer.

Yes, it's called my brain.

other than that, I don't really know. Channels on Sky go off at 1 and back on at 7, but thats the only thing I can think of really.
