Appreciate what you have and don't worry about what you haven't got. Realise that after life is death-surely life is better than that-so enjoy it!!! Except yourself the way that you are,and if you are not happy about anything about yourself work on changing it. Visit some elderly or sick people who would love to have their whole life ahead of them -and learn that life is great!!! Go to a few funerils and see moarning people wanting their beloved friends/family members to be still here, and appreciate your life. Spend some time out in the outdoors and see the world from a natural point of view-it is beautiful. Observe other creatures(any animal, not human though) and see the world through their eyes. They don't know about death or aren't as intelligent as us-so they just live and use their instinct to survive. Don't worry about what has not even happened and live.Live like your days are numbered and be thankful each day you wake up that you have lived another day. Life is as good or bad as we make it-enjoy every day. When the sun shines go out and feel the fresh air. When it rains think well it will be sunny another day and do a rainy day activity. When your husband or wife comes home thank your lucky stars you have someone who comes home to you. If you live alone and have to share the big bed all to yourself,be happy you have a warm cozy bed to sleep in. Just make the most of what you have. Life is full of good and bad times, appreciate the good times and look at the bad times as a lesson that life has it's ups and downs. And then remember it isn't always bad,the sun will shine again!!! Just love your life and live it!!!

I think it goes a long way if, when having a conversation with someone, you look like you are really interested in what they are saying? I know i like it when that happens - theres a lot to be said for a good listener too. Its really nice when you come across somebody who has a nice smile and good manners - spreads a lot of good feeling. I have been trying to put it into practise lately at work, and im getting good responses, i think its horrid to think these people are only talking to/listening to me because they have to - they work with me. Some people are really quite attitudey and let it be known that they feel they have nothing in common with each other, and i think its a bit ignorant. We should create a Good Manners Day or a Be Nice to Each Other Day! Its all about receiving positive attitude.

Oh it is sooo easy and yet so hard to do. To be happy there is but one key, to focus on the things that make you feel positive, and to exclude from your notice and concentration the things that are negative. Biggest thing I ever learned in my life and helped me get my whole life back. If you want to be happy, then you cannot allow yourself to live in the past, lay blame on your parents and ex lovers and all of that. Take responsibility for your own well being. If the news on TV is depressing, then turn it off or watch something that makes you feel better. If you had a crappy childhood, realize that the past cannot be changed, and just get on with doing the opposite for your own children, and so on. One cannot be happy while focusing attention on the things that make you unhappy.

Marcus Aurelius said, "It is hard to know whether riches or poverty produce happiness, both having been tried with equally poor results." He did not add (but might have) that the advantage of wealth is, at least you can be miserable in comfort.
Seriously, you have two options.
.....One: acknowledge your desires. Go flat out to achieve what you want. If you succeed, you might be happy.
.....Two: acknowledge the world as it is. We have very little influence over what happens; we have more control over our own mind. Learn to love things as they are. If you succeed, you might be happy.
Which you go for is a personal choice. Two famous rulers went opposite ways - Napoleon chose the first, Marcus Aurelius the second. Make up your own mind.

We can all become happy only by going beyond the thought of happiness.
Forget about happiness itself.
When one really forgets to be happy unhappiness will not come in touch with them. Because unhappiness is nothing but absence of our defined happiness.
It is neither happiness nor unhappiness it is called as bliss.
All our unhappiness is only because of defining and expecting to be happy like this or that.
Just flow with the river like a log.
It goes where ever it takes and even it crashes it to a rock it takes it with out argument.
So jump in to the river of divine and flow with it.
GOD Bless you.

Look around you and take stock of all the free things put there by nature for your hapinees. Be satisfied with the gifts and do not envy others. Try to give something back by making others happy.

Happiness in life is gained the virtuous way. By enacting good karma all the time... one indulges self in a sunny disposition and godly thinking. Such people always invoke positive thoughts from the reservoir of mind plus! The cause for gloom... unhappiness generates from the wanton desires... greed for materialistic riches!
Invoking negative thoughts from the reservoir of mind minus... human beings dominated by their ego indulge in vices and unethical means. This leads one towards unhappy circumstances. Everything results from karma performed by us... why blame god or nature ever! Every human being is the master and controller of ones destiny. How?
The entire cosmic system is governed by the doctrine of karma... as we sow so shall we reap... nothing less or more! Whatever destiny awaits us in the future would result from our karma in the present or the past. No soul atman is ever connected to the karma of other. Every soul atman in the Cosmos is independent of each other.
Happiness and sorrows are part of life! It simply cannot be that we experience happiness all the time. When the rod is heated and beat... it is time for sufferings! The shaped rod when immersed in a bucket of cold water... it is time for experiencing happiness! Both happiness and sufferings are two sides of the same coin.
As we have day... we also have night! We have fire... we also have water! We have God Almighty at plus hundred... we also have Satan at minus hundred! Duality is inbuilt in the cosmic system. In absence of one the other simply could not exist. At any given moment of time... the sum total of entire Cosmos must always remain zero!
Indulgence in good karma... gaining virtues all the time leads to happiness! Listening to the sweet small inner voice of our soul atman residing within our heart... one can always cross the ocean of Samsara (worldly life) happily! The voice of our soul atman within always guides us on the right path.
Remaining truthful in life... following the path of absolute truthfulness always and ever one can distinctly hear the voice of our soul atman... never otherwise! Having a defined goal in life is the crux of life! Most human beings do not have a goal in life. Their life is like a rudderless boat going round and round in the ocean.
When we pursue something dear to our heart... a profession indulging in which we lose track of time... happiness is not far behind! Having a goal in life is journey half complete. Life itself is not a goal... it is a journey! Always remember... we have only one life to live! Why not live it to its best! Pursuing a goal in life dear to our heart is a sure shot path to happiness! More on Karma - http://www.godrealized.com/karma.html

it is all in u r hands. u r the architect of u r own life. if u feel that u r happy u will think others are happy. if u start a day with a smile and and with a few minutes prayer u will start the day with interest and enthusiasm. develop positive attitude. why should others accept our version always. they will also have imagination, constructive thinking definite ideas etc. twe cannot think all others should welcome us with red carpet. we have to accept others views and respect their sentiments. if u dont agree with him or her tell them politely. hence it is all in our hands to be happy or un happy. all the best.
