What do you do when your favorite legendary rock band breaks up or the members start dying off? Easy - you start a tribute band! A tribute band is a musical group dedicated to performing the music of one particular group, usually a very famous one. Sometimes, the band so honored is no longer performing, but some are still on the road.

A tribute band is a band influinced and dedicated to one band, such as A Tribute To Metallica, or The Undeads- A Tribute To Rob Zombie.
Basically any band that does music based on another bands music is a Tribute Band.

a band playing some other bands music, they might try to look or dress like the real band and hopefully they will actually sound like them. A cover band will do more than one bands music there like your local bar band taking radio request, Tribute bands stick to one band.

A tribute band is a band that never does original music. They find a way to make a living sounding just like some other band. They're a cheap knock-off.
It would be kind of like you spending money on a MERCEDES-BENZ
and taking home a Volkswagen. The original is the only one that matters........................

Sometimes the tribute band members take on the personas of the original band members & dress like them & mimic their mannerisms.

like a band that pretends to be another band pretty much, like the pink floyd experience, they are a tribute band, they preform all of pink floyds songs, but they're not the real band
