see your doc and get a physical. Make sure you can exercise safely. Im in the same boat. I quit smoking 3 years ago and gained like 70 lbs. Im 40 now and still feel like I could start an exercise program safely. Its just getting the energy to start. Make time every day, walk at first but dress to run. Break into a jog from time to time, work up a sweat. Over the next few weeks jog more and more frequently during your walk until you are jogging the full distance, about 2 miles at first, then increase the distance. 30 minute run every day should help. Do not increase your caloric intake. 2 really good diets are weight watchers and Dr. Gott's no white flour no sugar diet. supplement fiber, 30 grams every day. get a hobby that occupies your free time as well. Tennis is good.

If you're obese, try walking first. You may only be able to walk for a minute or two, but stop and rest and then keep walking. So, walk for a minute, stop for a minute, walk for a minute, and so on. If even walking it too difficult, you can try a pool because that is easier on the joints.

If you are concerned about your heart, see a doctor first: you'll probably find it reassuring, actually. Also, the doctor can check to see if you have some hormonal problem that is causing such a weight gain when you don't take in excessive calories. If you don't want to see a regular doctor, see an obesity specialist, like a bariatrician -- not someone who just prescribes pills, but a real doctor who specializes in the problems of the obese.

If you go to www.weightwatchers.com, you will find a lot of stories of people who were in just the same shape as you who found tremendous success in following their program. Also, you can go to the meetings and I'll bet you're not even the biggest person in the room. If they can do it, so can you. Good luck!

First, check with your doctor to make sure you are healthy enough to exercise. Then, join Curves! I know you probably hate to exercise, but I do, too, and I love Curves! It's really easy, and fun! 30 minutes, 3 times a week. How hard is that? I felt a difference in my energy level right away! There were always ladies there bigger than me, even when I was at my heaviest, so I didn't feel embarrassed.
As for diet, you've heard it all. Eat fewer calories than you burn, and it has to come off. If you can follow South Beach on your own, it works. It's probably the best do-it-yourself diet out there.
My problem is, I have to be accountable to somebody. So I had my best results with LA Weight Loss. I had to go in and show them my food journal and get weighed every week. Even if I cheated a little, I usually lost 2-3 pounds a week. If I didn't cheat, I usually lost 3-4! It was an easy program to follow, you can even go to your favorite restaurants!
Keeping a food journal is crucial! You have to keep track of every morsel that goes into your mouth. Otherwise, there are lots of little things you aren't even aware that you're eating. A journal can also help you make sure you're getting all your water, and everything else you're supposed to. It doesn't have to be elaborate. A memo book in your purse will do.
Don't get discouraged if you slip. Your program is like a horse. If you fall off, get right back on and keep going. You'll get there! Good luck!

hi. if you genuinely gained one hundred pounds, you are in luck....if you start now. Walk. Walk to work. Walk to the shops. You know how to eat right, you probably don't do it though. Diet and exercise. Those have never changed. Exercise kills your appetite. Keep that in mind.

This may seem weird, but it'll truly help. I was 20lbs over-weight and I lost it all in two weeks by doing exercises off this site. www.bodybuilding.com they also have diet plans on there and what exercises effect what parts of the body. I know it seems weird because it's a bodybuilding wesbite so you'd think only bodybuilders could find it useful, but it'll honestly help out a lot.
