ealier i answered someones question and it was my opinion they wanted; a yes or no..well i guess i didnt say what they wanted and i got a thumbs down....why ask someone something and then thumb them down...just thumb up who u like and dont do anything to the one who says the opposite...to me thumbs down are for the rude ones...what do u think???

Thats abuse of the thumbs down button.People don't seem to understand that mere difference of opinion does not validate giving a thumbs down(most certainly not in P and S).Maybe the power to rate answers should be given only from level 3.

Well, don't assume that the person who asked the question is the one who gave you the thumbs down. Some people just do it for fun I do believe although I don't know what they are getting out of it. I posted a question awhile back and I looked and someone had went and gave everyone a thumbs down and I was worried the people who answered my question were going to think it was me. Try not to let it get to you. It was probably someone thinking they were being funny.

Thumbs down are for answers that you don't agree with. It shouldn't be looked at as a personal attack. If I see the same answer over and over again then I won't do anything but if I see an answer that is rude, dumb, or ridiculous then I will thumb it down. Reporting people should be reserved for those who come up with questions or answers that just stir the pot.

lt could also be the work of a troll. They like strirring things up here. They think it's fun.
l also got 5 thumbs down for an answer l gave a few weeks ago :(

yeah, that happens a lot to me - I will put my opinion about things and get lots of thumbs down. it's not like what i'm putting is offensive or anything, so why thumb down my opinion?! i know exactly what you mean & i can't stand when people do that either!! :(

It does piss you off....I never thumbs up or down unless it is just rude.....but there are alot of people that do everytime they answer a question.....
