Giants is a big franchise but a bad team now. They said "Bye" to Bonds and want to rebuild the team. They have Zito and two very talented pitchers - Lincekum and Cane. What do you think they should do in order to compete with other teams next year?

Getting rid of bonds is all that was needed. Next year they will be a good team.

The giants will not be competitive next year either. It's going to take some time. Lincecum is the new golden boy.
Zito was a mistake that will hurt the team for years, tying up their money.
Also, keep in mind Vizquel is a free agent after next year, with a couple others.
There best bet would be to train their pitching staff, get rid of high payroll non performers(can't with zito, unfortunately) and bring in players they can get.
I'm guessing it will be 6-10 years before you have a team capable of a pennant. I was there tonight though. good game!

They need to do three things:
1: Go Young
2: Go Young

They are a very bad team now, it is going to be very interesting this off season. I don't know why but i see Torii Hunter in center next year. The pitching is obvious their strong point. Zito has to be better next season.

revamp the whole team. younger players, get rid of durham roberts, aurilia and klesko. insert fransden at second possibly keep vizquel and feliz. put schierholtz in right winn in left davis in center. have ortmeier at first keep molina and sign some free agents. yee yee.
