...and be really comfortable with everything? I've had a new job for almost 2 weeks now, but I really screwed up today. I feel so stupid, thought I'd get the routine by now.

Hi,
Everything takes TIME and two weeks isn't a long time to get used to a new workplace, new routines, other people's ways etc. It's always embarrassing when you make mistakes but even after years in the same profession something might slip my mind. Everyone makes the occasional blunder so put it out of your mind. At least anyway, you won't make the same mistake again!!

p.s. good luck in your new job!!!

One time it took me 6 months to really figure the job out and it was just a night stocking job it didn't really sink in till 6 months later. I have been at my current job for a month now and it still isn't completely sinking in yet. I still make mistakes and I have a coworker training me and he is a major Alpha male and he is older than me at the age of 45 me 29 so he is acting like I don't know jack "I am still wet behind the ears" blah blah F You man!! No I know my job I just make some mistakes here and there sorry if I didn't make that mark on the car just perfect enough or I forgot to put the date of the sale on this car or I forgot to put a green ribbon and put a blue ribbon on this car... What am I supposed to do when he is just sitting in the work truck in the AC and listening to the radio instead of getting out and helping me honking at me yelling "Lets go lets go!!!!" Ok at least my boss told me I am working on my own next week.. FINALLY!!! Don't worry about it everyone makes mistakes don't feel stupid you are not stupid you are still a newby learning the job its not your fault you are in training it is to be expected. Your first 90 days on most jobs you are in the probationary period anyways so don't worry about it. You will be just fine

It's still new- give yourself a break! Learn from your mistake and move on. I've been doing my job for over 5 years now and I still mess up occasionally. You will get it, just listen and learn.
