If you are getting sparks when kicking, then the ignitions seems ok.

Next, check the gas flow.
If you smell petro then you might be flooded and have to wait until it excess evaporates. There is a fine line here...some engines have very specific instructions on how to start an engine. An example would be: set choke to full, kick three times, then set choke to closed, kick once. Engine should start.

Next check is compression. And I think that is what you are asking about. If you blew your motor, or exceeded RPMs too long, then you may have caused damage to the pistons, rings, or cylinder.

You can buy a compression meter, but the easy test is with the finger. Take out the sparkplug and cover the hole with your finger. Kick the starter. If you feel suction on your finger, then you have some compression.
I would go back and check the other symptoms again, if you have compression.

But these motors are quite simple.
Gas and air in.....
Compress.....
Burn,,,
Expand, and exhaust.

So think simple.

If it was running fine before you threw the chain I'm thinking it's nothing serious. You need three things for a engine to run. Air, Fuel and Spark. With some smaller two strokes you also have to have at least 100lbs of compression for the engine to run. As you said you checked for spark. Was it a good blue spark? Might check your battery leads and battery condition (i.e. cracked battery). Or coil / rectifier problem, lose wire or low battery.
You're running a air filter so dirt can't get into you carburetor. Take it off and try spraying a little WD40 in the carb throat when kicking it through to see if you get any fire at all. Don't use starting fluid as it is too volatile and could cause you to blow a head gasket. If it gets any fire at all could be in your carburetor. Stuck float, restricted line or however unlikely somehow the petcock got shut off.
When a engine seizes it's because of heat. Heat expands the piston and rings to where they no longer fit in the cylinder. If the bike kicks through at all, and you don't feel any excessive drag that wasn't there before you should be good.
If everything is there that you need to run and it still doesn't run you could try what I do when frustrated. Find a steep hill, put it in third gear (first or second will probably just slide the tire) and let the clutch out. If nothing else that should clear your carburetor and eliminate the million kicks.

Always give year, make, engine size and model # when asking questions. We need all of that info to give an informed answer.
Like others have said, check for spark.
If it's a 2 stroke, after the fall, the engine might have gotten flooded.
Remove the spark plug and "DO NOT" insert it into the spark plug cap.
Turn off the key if it has one.
Put it in gear and push it down the block to blow any excess fuel out of the crankcase (bottom end).
Install a good spark plug and try to start it.
