Killings, wars, rapes, brutality, abuses continue everyday... Do you believe that some kind of 'karmic' retribution will come to those that 'cross the line' of morality? Do you believe in the judicial system to 'take care' of those that aren't moral? Are you a nihilist and consider all action to have no 'moral' value or whatsoever? If so, what's the point in being kind, moral or ethical? Are we weaklings in the face of the empty nature of the universe? Will we ever find balance as the human race?

Spirituality, religion...this has been the guardian at the gates against the intrusion of nihilism. Yes, we have become more nihilistic as a society, but this means that the guardian is faltering. The reason is that this guardian requires BELIEF to remain strong.

If society no longer believes, nihilism is the ultimate outcome...that is unless religion is replaced with something else mankind can believe in.

Maybe there will eventually be a resurgence of religion? Or maybe a broad based turn towards...uhhhmmm...PHILOSOPHY?

I can only hope!

We definitely live in interesting times. A great choice is before us both collectively as a human race and personally to each and every one of us humans.
We can choose to become part of the ‘mainstream’ by adopting the ethics of our era (kill, cheat, rape, abuse) or we can override this inclination and abide by a superior ethical code thus steer our future away from self-destruction.
As far as I’m concerned I strongly believe and expect the human race to take the quantum leap of consciousness into a higher level of spiritual evolution.

I don't think the world is morally nihilistic, I think the majority have skiewed views of morality because of things like religious extremism. It can certainly seem nihilistic at first glance though.
