It sounds crazy that I'm saying this, but will it happen? It seems things have changed and Michigan has improved. However, I guess Penn State and Notre Dame don't have the Spread Offense that made Appalachian State and Oregon so dangerous.

They will move up in the opinions of the voters no doubt but it may be a little early to put them back into the top 25. They play the slower teams like ND and Penn St well, but struggle against the faster teams like App St and Oregon. Michigan is designed to win in the slower Big 10, not leagues with speed like the SEC. Michigan has an easy stretch of games upcoming, so I do expect to see them back in the top 25 in a few more weeks, but if they make it this week it would surprise me somewhat. This is a good team and a team that might win the Big 10 with their only real competition being OSU and Wisconsin. The Ohio State debacle against Florida in last years "National Championship" and the pathetic showing of Michigan against App St and Oregon underscore with emphasis the huge speed deficit the Big 10 suffers from when playing quality opponents outside the league. You are right about the spread offenses but if is also the team speed that beats Michigan and the Big 3 ( I mean Big 10) outside the conference.

This is a harder question to answer currently than it would've been a week ago. Last week I would've said Penn State for sure would win at Michigan, but after seeing the whooping Michigan gave to Notre Dame, I'm not so sure. Yes, I would love to see Penn State win and I think they will, but we haven't won a game against Michigan in 8 years. The last time PSU won was 1996. Michigan lost their two first games because they faced spread offenses and weren't able to stop them. Michigan will have an easier time against Big 10 teams and this game will definitely be close. I'm thinking a similar game to the 2005 one will be played, but most likely with a different outcome.

They should move back into the top 25 for sure, common they just beat a top 10 team in Penn. St. This was a redemption game for the Michigan Wolverines, just to show peoples that Michigan is still a great team, they show alot of heart in today victory over the Nittany Lions. Yes, Michigan deserve to be in the top 25 again and they will went the new polls come out.

They are definitely one of the top 25 teams right now in college football, but I think it will take 2-3 more weeks for them to get in. We play Northwestern on the road and then home for EMU and Purdue then back on the road for Illinois (revenge time baby) and then back home for Minnesota. I don't really see any games that we'll lose there. Purdue is the best opponent, but I can't see that happening. Illinois has the mobile qb, but he sucks, and so do they, and their coach is something awful.

And to the person who thought arizona state should go in ahead of michigan, pretty sure they lost to a bad team last night. And the SEC thing above me, I'm pretty Michigan is 4-1 in their last 5 games with the SEC. I know that we're 2-0 in the last two for sure. I think we can handle the SEC just fine, just like the big ten winning 2-1 against them in bowl games last year.

No. Not even close. It doesn't help Michigan that Penn State is not a top 25 team, so the win really loses it's luster. Currently the Big 10 stacks up like this;

OSU - #1 (5th in nation)
Wisconsin - #2 (9th in nation)
Purdue - #3 (17th in nation)
Mich St. - #4 (25th in nation)
Iowa - #5 (40th in nation)
Penn St. - #6 (41st in nation)
Illinois #7 (48th in nation)
Michigan #8 (52nd in nation)
Indiana #9 (68th in nation)
Minnesota #10 (75th in nation)
N'Western #11 (87th in nation)

This takes everything into account not just the results of one game (i.e. Mich over Penn St) but all games against all opponents ...

Good Luck

No, but Penn State should definitely drop out of the top 25. Face it, the Big 10 is godawful this year.

It's possible, but unlikely, I'd say they'd have to win another one, maybe two before cracking the top 25 again. But it's possible. I suspect Arizona State, Michigan State, and Cinci would move into the top 25 before Michigan, maybe FSU too.

No, they shouldn't and they won't. Sorry, but barely beating a massively overrated Penn State team and blowing out the worst team in college football doesn't outweigh losing to a I-AA team that lost to Wofford and getting demolished by Oregon.

No...Although beating Penn State is convincing, losing to Appalacian State and getting blown out by Oregon makes there case even harder to support. And anyone can beat ND the way theyve playedd

I doubt that they will. They hardly crushed PSU and this is their 4th straight home game.

There are still too many other better teams in the eyes of the voters. They may get more votes because they beat PSU however, but not enought to crack the top 25.

Yeah, the spread offense is tough to stop.
