I think you mean you want your "taskbar" to dissapear. To do this you can change one of the settings to the taskbar by clicking:
Right click the taskbar and choose options / check the second box - auto-hide the Taskbar / click OK
OR
Start button / Control Panel / Taskbar & Start Menu / check the second box - auto-hide the Taskbar / click OK / close Control Panel screen, your all done.
Now when you are viewing your screen you will have more space to see the programs your in. When you want to click on the start menu, or minimize/maximize a screen, or open another program all you have to do is move your cursor to the bottom of the screen and the taskbar will re-appear.

You can either pull it down with your mouse, just take your mouse down to the top edge of the task bar, you will see an arrow, make sure you are on the edge of the task bar and not the browser page. Just move it up or down a hair till you get the right spot. Then left click, hold it & pull the taskbar down. YOu can pull it back up anytime you get ready or you can right click on the task bar, go to properties, choose auto hide task bar. The task bar will disappear, it's still there but it won't appear till you hover your mouse over that area.

right click the task bar , hit properties and check the autohide taskbar option. Also if you uncheck the lock task bar option, you can move the taskbar to the right left or top of your screen by dragging the taskbar around.

Right click and make sure "lock the toolbar" option isn't selected. Then you should be able to drag it downwards and close it. You can also right click on it, go to properties, and choose "autohide". This will hide it until you move your cursor over it and it will reopen.
Good luck!
