Here is my take on this, EVERYBODY. Like it or not, society and employers demand that if we are going to put something out there for EVERYBODY to see, then we should check our spelling before we put it out there.

This is not a dig against you Star. You brought up a a valid question. There is an unspecified rule whether you respond, post, or blog that you should check your spelling. When you respond or post or blog and you want the true and exact meaning of what you're (not your) trying to say, then you should use proper spelling, diction, grammar, and mechanics. Even though, hyphenating words, using initialisms and acronyms are the standard routine for text messaging. When you're trying to convey a thought or idea or using persuasive writing, especially if you want to get your (not you're) point across, the power of your words carry more weight when they are spelled correctly. It shows you care both about what you write and the audience that reads your writing. This is also where the term comes into play - the pen is mightier than the sword.

people just need to get over it. the question part does not have a spell check so shut up read that question and answer it. so what there are words spelled wrong . people act like they don't make mistakes.
