If ND had made me coach, and I was 0-4 like Charlie, would you all be saying "give Kimmy a few more years, she'll turn it around"?

forschoolok,
I have to agree, if a girl had Charlie's record, she'd have been fired by now. Thats because a girl has to twice as much as a guy to get half the credit. Why are NONE of the NCAA football coaches female? DISCRIMINATION!!! That's all there is to it. Dunces like you think we can't do it, of course we can do anything else a man can do.

I can be better than Charlie. The first game we lose I'll be such a ***** no one will ever want to go through that again.

To answer your question, you would probably be doing worse than Charlie Weiss. It is evident from your e-mail that you are clueless when it comes to leading a football team.

In answer to your mindless tirade about discrimination being the reason why women are not coaching football in the NCAA: do some research. How many women have actually applied to the NCAA to be head football coaches or even assistant coaches as far as that goes? And do you really think that 200 - 300 pound football players are actually going to respect you if your answer to loosing is acting like a *****? They would all realize that you have no idea what you are doing and would probably transfer to Michigan.

The answer is no. I am not saying this as a Notre Dame fan, but as a sports fan. Weiss has proven himself as a great coach and this year has a young team and has not had a chance to rebuild after losing key players such as Brady Quinn. The other thing is that there should never be a female coach. A good coach always comes from a person who has played and understood the game at the level that they are playing at. Females do not play in the game so they would not be respected as a coach. So, if a female had this record, they would be fired by now.

First off, it's "could I do as well" or "could I do as badly," depending upon how you meant it.

Secondly, you probably would be 0-4 as well. Coaching football is more than yelling at your players to get them to perform better. I could yell at mice all day and they still would play terrible football. He has a bad team this year, plain and simple.

That being said, with all of Charlie Weiss's experience, he should have a victory by now. While the team is terrible, they should have been at least able to scrounge together one victory, or at least put up a valiant effort. In that regard, the blame falls entirely upon Weiss.

A dog could do as well as Charlie Weiss. You could do better.

I admire your enthusiasm, but you sound like you're about 10...

And if you were that good, wouldn't you avoid 0-4?...Ha, ha...If Weis loses to Navy, his time at ND is done...That will be an inexcusable loss...Even Gerry Faust didn't screw THAT one up...

Depends on what players you have.
Weis isn't a bad coach, he just has a horrible team this year.

Maybe if you were buttnaked on the sideline you would get the players attention.
