I have been unable to have a child, and have been trying for 5 years. I have tried Clomid, Metformin, and artifical insemination. My insurance does not cover IVF, so it is not an option right now. My Dr told me that I have polycystic Ovarian syndrome, and I don't ovulate. I didn't on any of the drugs. I am so frustrated, and upset all the time, and I know I should not get stressed out because it will make things worse. Just wondering if anyone else has gone through this, and tried things that I have not.

I have pcos for about 10 yrs now and I am overweight. I hope I am not being so nosy, but are you overweight also?? I also had trouble getting pregnant with my first and only child who now is 7 years old. I asked my doctor to put me on clomid about 8 years ago. It took me awhile to get pregnant but something just magically helped me. Do you also get irregular periods, that messes with the ovulation?? If you do see if your doctor will put you on medproxygesterone, that helps get your periods back, and then eventually go talk to your doctor again and try the clomid. But if you do try the clomid dont get stressed or upset over it if you dont end up getting pregnant. Cause like me it might just suprisingly help out one time>. bGood luck. If you like to ask me any more specific questions about this. you can send me a instant message.

Ok just one major question right now.....well ok two.....Do you eat a lot of carbs (bread, pasta, cereal and sweets? Are you overweight?

With PCOS the #1 important thing is cutting back on carbs as much as possible. Fruit doesn't seem to have an affect but breads, pastas, cereals and sweets are a No-No with PCOS/PCO if you are trying to gain control of your cycles and your fertility.

I was diagnosed at 19 with PCO and I was addicted to Carbs (still am). I cut out all breads and pastas and cut back the sweets to once a week and cereals just once a month or so. Ate lots of salads and proteins and lost 40-50 lbs. I ended up getting pregnant after 6 years of trying once I lost that weight by doing low carb. I now have 2 boys. When I eat a lot of carbs my periods become irregular and the PCO comes back full force but if I back off I start losing weight and cycles go back to normal. I too tried the clomid and other things with the fertility specialist but just couldn't ovulate. Both my ovaries are covered with cysts.

hi! I am also a PCOS and praise God i havn't tried any fertility meds like clomid. my obgyne advised me to take folic acid once a day and control my diet. i've tried metformin though and "flushing" ---the pain was unbearable but it was all worth it! after six months of treatment, i was pregnant and gave birth to a beautiful healthy baby boy! Have faith to God, just believe that whatever u ask from HIM, you'll receive.
