I just bought a laptop with tv-tuner. i connect it to my cable box..so far i m getting the regular 90 channels which i get from the cable company. so, Is a way to get additional channels when i connect to the cable box or even by not connecting to cable box? I looking for HBO and Cinemax channels

On a cable system, those are premium channels and are encoded. You need a decoder. If you don't have it on the set top box, you don't have it. If you get more than 90 channels on the set top box, you can attach the output of the box to the computer, Set it to either channel 3 or 4 and watch as if it was TV.

you can buy software and edit the card but be warned the fbi will come after you if you do
