that bleach and naruto are so similar in so many ways? i mean, just how many different pink haired girls are out there(yachiru and sakura). and then Byakuya and Byakugan. there's also the matter when it seems everyone is caught in some kind of twisted love octagon thing in both series. there's also the case of where it seems every other character is a old hearted freak(sasuke, neji, gaara, shino from naruto and byakuya, toshirou and ishida from bleach). and both ichigo and naruto have famous fathers, yet either have yet to notice. what about(SPOILERS HERE FOR BOTH BLEACH AND NARUTO NON- MANGA READERS) orihime going off with Aizen( yeah, i know she was forced and all, but still) and sasuke running off to orochimaru. speaking of which, those names are too similar as well( ichimaru gin and orochimaru). and creepy girl looking guys that randomly pop up. yeah, so if anyone is out there who doesn't think i'm crazy, please feel free to point out some other stuff i missed. thx, need more room.

Yeah, I tend to agree- and that's one of the reasons I'm not a fan of either Naruto or Bleach. For me they are both typical Shonen anime that lacks originality and are often times predicatable. I may not agree with the specific examples you pointed to, but I do agree with what you were saying overall. To me, Bleach and Naruto are just the next installment of the Dragonball type anime, and they will be replaced and fade to the sidelines in the years to come. Now Dragonball is a source of humor to poke at for it's ridiculous flaws. I feel that Bleach and Naruto will end up the same (Believe it!).
I know that I am going to get flamed for this, and probably end up with 5+ thumbs down- but I'm not just polling this out of nowhere. Having seen well over 200 series, I have viewed more than 10 times the anime than the average Naruto fan. So when I say Naruto and Bleach are predictable and lacking originality, be aware that I've seen enough anime in my time, and have been a fan long enough to at least lend some credence to my claim.

nah, I wouldn't say you're crazy. In fact, it;s pretty normal. I mean, when you think about it, lots of competing storylines are fairly similar. Pay attention to Hollywood. Best Examples I have are Armageddon and Deep Impact - both were stories about giant meteors hurling towards Earth - only difference is one hits and the other doesn't - both were released the same summer. There's Macross, Transformers, Gundam and Neon Genesis Evangelion - lots of similarities there. Pokemon and Digimon.
So, yeah, there are lots of storylines that are very similar to each other, and some even go as far as have similar names, especially when one show is trying to catch up to the other, more popular show.
