no i don't believe she can make her do this. I think at this point she did the deed and is old enough to make her own decisions and authority would feel the same way. If she wants to keep it then she should. There are tons of programs and help she can get. I myself have had an abortion and it is very traumatizing especially cuz I did want the baby but in my case the doc. said I could die if I tried to keep it. She is a lot younger then me, and just trust me..when you want a baby and cannot keep it...it bothers you every day when you see little ones around. It's also physically painful and I don't wish it on anyone. My step sis also had an abortion in which the dumb doctor (who also did mine) didn't get the baby all out and she ended up having a 2nd one done. There;s so much that can happen even tho these clinics say it's a safe procedure. Gramma needs to step back and respect your cousins wishes and help her out and not be so disrespectful.

i don't know the law in MI. sounds like she needs to take a little break from her mom though. if she is old enough to get pregnant then she is old enough to make decisions about her life and her baby. See what the laws say about emancipation. I think that she should look into moving in with a different family member and try to finish high school if she can. good luck to her and her baby.

No, she cannot make her get an abortion. It is the mother's right to choose, not the grandmother's right to choose. In most states girls over a certain age are considered emancipated when they give birth.

No she can't force her to have an abortion that is only a decision that the mother to be can make.

16 though its not legal to purchase alchohol or cigarettes it is concidered "legal" if she went to a planned parenthood center they will help her get pre-natal care and they can also help her become emancipated until the baby is born when she is what is called an "emancipated minor" someone with semi-legal adult status.

If the laws say that she has to respect her mother's wishes b/c she's a minor, I wonder if she could look into get emancipated?
