Not at all. However, a pregnant woman shouldn't lift heavy weights or overexert herself. A woman can do pretty much whatever she was doing before she was pregnant because her body is used to it.

No, a pregnant woman shouldn't avoid going to the gym. It's important to stay healthy and in shape during your pregnancy, it makes for an easier labor. You should not continue with the same fitness regimen that you had prior to becoming pregnant though. You should talk to your doctor for specifics, but you don't want to do anything too strenuous, as it could cause problems for your baby.

Most gym membership type gyms have personnel who can let her know what types of exercises are ok to do pregnant. A good rule of thumb is that if she worked out before pregnancy and was in good shape it's more than fine to work out WITH RESTRAINT and guidance. If she didn't, while pregnant is not a good time to start with weights and things like that but it's more than ok to take walks and that actually assists with labor. Working with leg muscles helps a bunch just stay away from any ab work. Cardio is ok as long as it's not strenuous. I hope that helps!

No, you don't have to avoid going to the gym just because you are pregnant. It is very healthy to exercise when your pregnant.. But keep in mind that the exercise should be very very mild. Mainly stretching and low-key activities. Obviosly no running or heavy weight lifting. but the gym isn't a taboo while your pregnant.

NO.....as long as you do the right exercises and your pregnancy is running smoothly with no complications.

Check with both your Midwife and your Gynaecologist (or whichever one you have) and possible work with an Antenatal specialist to know which exercises to do and avoid.

Also remember that you will require different exercises at different stages in your pregnancy.

The first trimester (3 months) is when the baby is growing the most and you need to make sure you have adequate nutrition and get adequate rest, so don't overdo it.

Play safe.... get specific advice for YOUR body, YOUR pregnancy and YOUR stage in the pregnancy, for exercises, nurtrition, supplements and intensity.

no! talk to your ob first, but I am anticipating being pregnant and I have studied up on it and you can do plenty of exercise during pregnancy, there are a few restrictions after a certain point like working abs, but check with your ob. I found some useful info at www.fitpregnancy.com

Pregnant women should go to the gym and be active. your body will tell you the limits. you shouldn't be lifting weights or excercizing to loose weight just to stay fit and keep your muscles toned. it makes giving birth easier.

If you previously went to the gym before you became pregnant, you can continue to go as long as you watch what you do.
