I see so many instances that once someone is know to be a democrat he is just naturally assumed to be the most extreme of liberals on all issues, and a republican is assumed to be the most right wing of conservatives. I know this is not the case. We are not really that simple in our personal beliefs. Our own personal beliefs vary from issue to issue. But as things stands now you are thrown in with either the left wing extremists or the right wing extremists even if you are really somewhere in the middle. In my opinion, we need to either do away with the two party system by banning parties all together and making people run on what they personally stand for, or at least have a couple more parties....like a labor party that would focus on fairness for american workers, or an americans first party that could focus on making sure our governments serves americans first and not everyone else in the world. Can you imagine how quickly the demcrats and republicans would start acting

I think the system of parties as a whole causes the problems we have right now with the political system. You have something when you say that we should have candidates run individually. Wouldn't solve the problem, of course, but it would provide people with the largest diversity of options and make the people run as actual human beings. It's a lot better than being thrown together into a group and being forced to think the same in order to get votes.

Good observations.

I'm assuming you are referring to the United States.

First, there is no two party system. You cannot find anywhere in the Constitution or laws under it that indicate that.
What has happened is two parties have placed themselves in the position where they control ballot access and the election process. They keep everyone else out of the election.

There are more parties, Libertarian, Constitution, Labor, Reform, Nazi, and others. But they seldom are available on the ballot.

Banning parties is a consideration, but not practical. Because they would simply replace them with something else. The political party was not part of the plan, but soon after the first few Presidents parties began to form. Some have their roots going back before the Declaration of Independence.

I'd say the biggest thing killing our country is the bleeding hearted liberal media, which works overtime to fan the flames of divisiveness, racial tension, any polarizing issue, any controversy whatsoever and WILL NOT let anything die if there's another dime to be made in printing or broadcasting about it.

Like Morgan Freeman said, the racial problems would just go away if people would just stop obsessing over it, quit thinking about it all the time, and move on. Everyone. But there's too much money to be made in racial division, the media has made a mint over it, and along with every other problem real or imagined, the only way to keep the goose laying the golden eggs is to keep feeding it.

Eliminate the dominant media culture in this country and watch peace ensue. OR we teach our children to ignore the bleeding hearted liberal media and to refuse to be sucked into their ever unfolding scandal driven dramas.

There are no multi-party systems in the world. It's a shell game.Enough research and you wouldn't waste your time with such a query.Want proof?Look at the executive orders signed by the past 7 presidents. Then examine the CFR,and the U.N.[not to mention several other unelected policy- making organizations],and ask yourself if any common folks had a say in their founding or current traitorous actions.

Yes. Our forefathers NEVER intended for this country to operate under a two party system. They envisioned many different parties, and a clear balance of power.
