Right now I have automatics. But I've owned cars that were standards.
Also I used to be a truck driver in the Army and for a liquor distributor. Every truck I drove was a standard. The fun one was a huge semi in the Army. It was a 32 speed semi auto. Meaning that you had to shift it, but there was no clutch pedal. Also it was air assisted shifting, so there was this really cool shhht-shshtt sound with every shift.
If I ever get another pick up truck, I want it to be standard. They are better in foul weather.

Automatic these days, used to drive nothing but manuals back in the day. Of course that was before the injury to my back and knees.

I just purchased my first automatic after 21 years of owning manuals. There are pros and cons to both, but I prefer manual and may go back.

I can't stand automatic i refuse to drive it i can just feel the car accelerating poorly and wasting its energy. Theres nothing like throwing it in first stomping on the gas letting the clutch in and tearing off.
A manual gives you real control.
