First week of April 2008.

A qualifying .400 for a full season? It's going to take just the right player at his peak playing in just the right environment. Someone like Bonds or Ichiro in Coors Field. Some time on the DL (to prevent wearing down, but still make the minimum PA requirement) would help.

Ted at his peak juuuuust did it.
Brett at his peak just missed.
Gwynn at his peak just missed.

Hitting .400 is hard. It may not happen without a hitting-favorable change in the rules or gameplay conditions.

Probably no time soon. Look at how long it has been since Ted Williams hit .406 in 1941, that was 66 years ago.Sure you'll have people batting near .400, but somehow they couldn,t quite get those precious few necessary points to get there. The only player who came closest to .400 is Tony Gwynn, who hit .394 in1994.

Okay, someone is going to hit .400 again...obviously I can't say when, but I do not hold hitting .400 in the same light as 56. Tony Gwynn almost did it a little over a decade ago.

I don't think that an MLB will do it if they do it will get lots of people interested in baseball. If anyone is to hit .400+ it will be some on in Japan.

The only Major Leaguer right now with even a remote shot at .400 is Ichiro Suzuki.

Row Carew's .388 frequently used in 1977 for the Twins grew to become into the utmost in a minimum of one-hundred fifty video games (one hundred fifty five) because of the fact that Williams's in 1941. the different maximum, adult men who did no longer play in a hundred and fifty video games yet nevertheless qualified for a batting call, are... Brett's .390 in 1980 Gwynn's .394 in 1994 Williams's .390 in 1957

Hitting .400 and the 56 game hitting streak are two that I doubt will ever be broken.

Never

The only way anyone will ever reach a .400 batting average again, is if they increase the fields dimensions by an extra 100ft.

Never, that is very hard to do. The list of .300+ keeps going down each year.
