Pink Floyd --Dark Side of The Moon ( 1973). It was the first rock album that took nearly a year of intense studio work and audio special effects to create, costing the band every dime they earned and hefty six-figure checks from investors. Their work paid off far more than the band expected. To this day, the album still lists on Bill Board top 100.

KISS-- Destroyer ( 1976 ) Not settled to allow "Rock And Roll All Nite" to be their one hit, this "breakout" album catapulted KISS to global fame with icon anthems "Shout It Out Loud", "God of Thunder"....and the surprise "B" side hit, "Beth". KISS parallels The Beatles on this album in that some of the lead guitar work wasn't Ace's---but that of Bruce Kulick (who later joined KISS in the early 80s). And again, like The Fab Four, KISS trails just behind them in the number of rock albums sold.

The Beatles--Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band Considered the first rock "theme" album at the height of the rock "psychedelia" movement. This album captures the essence of British rock psychedelia. The Fab Four shed their "shiny" image for a little "grunge" pesona. Hard core Beatles fans speculate / debate Sgt. Pepper's was "Phase 1" of the infamous "Paul is dead" hoopla hoax---that dangerously toyed w/ the band's success.
