I was wondering is the student discount for a mac only for people in college or you can still get it if you are in high school. I was also wondering i was wondering if i bought a macbook in the mac store can i customize it like how i wanted to (like on the internet) Would I have to wait for them to make my mac the way i want it??
Is it easier ordering online or going into a store?

The sales representatives at the store will be able to answer all these questions. For a custom computer you always have to wait, no matter whether you buy it online or at the store.

Ask, however any kind of student discount I've seen before applies college only; that is the extend of what a sales rep can do in these days, they defer all the customizing and installation to techs in the store. However to me they are shameless self-ads since those tasks are simple to do; but then the same goes to someone who's interested in cars and would consider body-shops over-charges people.

If store is convenient to get to, yes, but online is otherwise easier to ordering.

It only applies to University and College students. If you have any family or friends that attend, they can purchase a Mac for you with their discount.
I'm not sure but I think upgrades are online only. Ask a salesperson in an Apple store to get a definitive answer.

ok i would say that as a high school student you dont need a mac a dell will do nicely and they have student discounts for high school students, also as a collage student who carred a laptop in high school (earlyer this year) you need a pc that can have lojack installed so if its stolen.. agian macs dont have any kind of lojack support but most major pc makers now install a chip (like flash bios) that holds the lojack program so even if the hard drive is replaced you will get it back and also i know alot of pepole like apple better than microsoft so if thats you big reaso for getting a mac just call in your order and ask to get "ubuntu linux 7.04" installed its got most of the mac core componets anyway (apple copyed some system parts from linux a while back) and its fast but if your needing ms office and not open office then windows comes free on dells so you can install that and photoshop and whatever (if you couldnt tell at this point im trying to deture you from getting a mac) now ive used a used system for school for quite a while now so you dont hafta get a brand new pc eather (i've used this one im on now for 3 years now its a used dell and its handled the abuse really well) and macs arent known for there hardware anyway yes the apple student discoud extends to high school students becouse it says so in that goverment made magizene thats prolly in your english classroom somewhere (i bet you 1$ its in there and you havent even seen it before)
