Bush II

Nice name? I don't know who the worst president was. One of the ones that would be on my list would be the one with the most historic propaganda about him. I know this will be blasphemy to say but how about Abraham Lincoln? Now before you jerk your knee out of joint think about this. He waged a war against about half of America and killed a lot of American citizens in the process. (Still more than all that were killed in all of our other wars combined.) Most people think the North won the war but it was really the federal government. The war was about states rights not slavery as many of you have been told. If you think it was about slavery answer this. Why wasn't the emancipation proclamation issued until two years after the war started and why did it only apply in states not under Northern control? America was a free country before the war and a dictatorship during. After the war we came under federal control. We are no longer in control of our government it is in control of us and that started during the war. Everything about how our rotten government operates today started then. Why was Jefferson Davis never tried for his "crimes"? I'll tell you. He hadn't committed any. The government was going to try him but they were advised by the supreme court that if they did he would win. All of the states that fought for the Confederacy had joined the union with the understanding that they were free to leave the union at will. Where does the Constitution state that they were not free to do so? I believe it does state however that federal troops cannot be used against Americans. Didn't Lincoln (and Clinton) do that? GWB may not be anything like the best president we've had but he isn't the worst by far. Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton would also make my top ten list. Carter for his complete incompetence and Clinton for his treasonous behavior while in office. I believe we could expect the same thing from his infamous wife.

There are some real good candidates out there, including Harding, Andrew Johnson, Grant, Carter and Nixon. Historians, however, are already starting to make room at the top of the list for W. Rampant cronyism and corruption? Check. Unbelievably bad foreign policy blunder? Got it. Undermining of the constitution and the rule of law? Big time. Reckless financial policy? Oh yeah. I could name about 10 more, and the rest of those bums only had one or two to make them bad.

Worst for various reasons. For pure evil it would be Richard Nixon. For lack of ability perhaps Warren Harding (by his own admission). Buchanan comes to mind. He might have prevented the Civil War. Several presidents in 1870's and 80's were rather poor. Depends on the situation who was really bad.The current one may well be the worst, I will give him the benefit of the doubt, he may have an epiphany and do some great things between now and January of 09. But I doubt it very much.

Flip on the telly -- catch the current news
strong possibility that you'll be looking at him
--- not so affectionately refered to (even by some of his own staffers) as Junior ---
George Bush II --- and, THAT is without one single doubt !!

And, to those that talk of Carter's "inflation rate"
Try a TRIPLING of the National Debt !! And, the current (and FAR from being over) calapse of the housing market --- along with staggering illegal immagration (supported in total BY the White House) --- actual INCENTIVES for the outsourcing of American Jobs --- a myriad of executive orders undermining the sovereignty of the nation in favor of a North American Union --- and a general calapse of America's prestige around the world !!!

Overall, I can't think of one who would even dream of taking the advantages this current one has along with his come n' go cabinet. The scandals dishonor our country and with all the 'think tanks' popping up you'd THINK things would improve. Now it's fear of losing position if you oppose the 'ocupation' another liberty squelched.

Jimmy Carter - 21% Interest rates and double digit inflation and none of it is as relevant as his approach to the Iran/Hostage crisis.

You should read some stories about the "Mullahs" that ran Iran at the time and how they were angry at the students for taking our Embassy and the hostages; they feared the US and the reprisals that would come. When those reprisals never occured they transformed and recognized America was a paper tiger they could wage war against. Now they do; thank you Jimmy Carter.
