1) Make sure you know where the theatre is, that you've got your ticket(s) in either your pocket or your bag, and maybe do a little bit of background research about the play you're going to see (that can really be helpful if you're going to see a production of a medieval/renaissance play, or one that's been translated into English from another language).
2) I'm assuming this is for a class you're taking. But it still depends on what kind of class it is. It's usually good to include a short (1-2 short paragraphs) summary of the plot. Talk about what worked and what didn't- the lighting (is there a part you thought was particularly good or bad?), the music/sound effects, the set, the costumes; and of course, the acting! If there's one or two actors that really stand out, mention that. Why? Did the director do a good job (I've seen a lot of shows that had wonderful actors, but weren't well directed at all)? Was the staging good or bad (the blocking, etc. on the stage)? Why? Were there any obvious technical problems? If so, what? Did the show work in the type of theatre it was in? (I saw a production of Medea at the Classical Theatre of Harlem a couple years ago, and it didn't work in the space it was in very well. They had the audience split along two sides of the room with most of the action in the middle of the room, which was fine, but they took the scene in which Medea kills her children and physically staged it...under/behind the risers the audience was seated on at one side.) If it's a translated piece, and you're familiar with the original version (or even another translation that you know to be reliable) you can even comment on the quality of the translation.

I was in Speech I and Drama I last year this is wat i learned:
(Hope i help)
1. you should be prepared. like if your performing, know your lines and practice in front of ppl. if your visiting a theater to see a play, be informed of the type of play, the title, what the subject of the play is, (or event at the theater) and you should get a play bill like to know who the cast and crew are. And you should be a good audience member, and give your full undivided attention.
2. You need to pay attention to not only the play, but the actors, are their actions believable? Do they move or stand around like statues? Do they USE props, or do they Become them?(don't turn your hand into a phone HOLD the phone just an ex.) Are there long pauses with out actions or lines? Do they ( the actor) have the stage set appropiatly? Do they say their lines as though it were a real situation? Are they familiar with their lines? are they comfortable performing infront of an audience? These q's should be written in a critique. I was critiqued a lot in drama and in speech both. these are only a few of the things included in our critiques.

I agree with the other answerers about preparing for going to the theatre.
There are five topics which should be covered in the written critique of the performance of a play. 1. the script, does it have memorable lines, characters and ideas? 2. the directing, Is the performance well cast, and well performed, are there any noticable errors and are you unaware of how long the performace is taking? 3. the actors, can you hear and understand them, does it look like what they are doing is effortless, do they make you like them? 4. the technology-are the sets, lights, sound, costumes, and props supportive of the play without being intrusive? 5. the audience, was the performance well attended, did they respond properly, and how enthusiastic was the applauce at curtain calls? That covers a performance. Have a great time!
