if I go over the capacity, would my computer work or not? I have 512 in now and really would like 1 gig, but the capacity says 512 at this web site. Can I increase it somehow?

thanks

Either you won't be able to get chips that will work that way, or it won't work. Probably the best solution to this problem for you is to get a new computer.

simple answer NO

If you replaced the motherboard, then YES.

Prices are coming down so fast that I would check out ebay for a good computer that can handle 1 gig RAM.

Last time I was there, thought they were going for under $150.

Just go to
http://www.4allmemory.com

Click on Check my system. It will tell you what memory you currently have and what the max you can have. Also it will tell which memory to buy.
