I remove the key...lock the forks. And if I leave my helmet(s) on the bike I use a cable lock through the D rings of the straps and through a part of the motorcycle. 99.9% of the time nobody's going to mess with your bike anyway.

At the daily salt mine I usually just lock the forks, when I go out shopping I usually park the bike with the above and a cable lock on the back wheel. It is a very rare occurance when I leave my helmet attached to the bike with a cable lock through the D rings. Although two of the grocery stores that I go to I can park the bike on the sidewalk away from the parking area and I usualy just lock the forks.

In a parking spot, I first park out where a car whipping into the spot will see my bike, like near the end of the spot.

I lock the steering, and I will set my alarm. If I am staying awhile, I will cable lock the rear wheel. If I can find a spot near a pole, I will cable it to that.

I lock the ignition. Sometimes I'll set the alarm, which will disable the ignition. The alarm only has that and the flashing lights. I didn't buy the siren. The fork lock hasn't worked since day 1. As was said, if they want it, they'll take it.

If anyone were stupid enough to take mine, they better strip it faster than they stole it. It's the only one like it around here. And we all know who it belongs to.

I lock the steering and try to be close by at all times where I can see my bike . No matter what you do if someone wants to steal it they will .its nothing for 2-4 guys to pick up a bike and toss it in a truck bed ,and if they are then its going to be withen the first few minutes of parking ,Cover, cables, alarms will slow them down .you welcome

Well I am a newbie in locking up my scooter, but at the moment I always make sure that the key is always mechanically covered (end of the key on my scooter has a special alan key, twist it in a secondary key hole and it puts a cover of the ignition key.) I always also put a disk brake lock on the front wheel and chain it to something, helmet goes under the seat.
