....re-dubbed words that are less profane, but may lack the impact or relevance of the origin language?

For example, in the ABC airing of "Die Hard II", Bruce Willis' trademark salvo to a bad guy became, "Yippee-ki-ya, MISTER FALCON."....instead of that other MF term....

I'd prefer to see them replaced with spoonerisms. It'd be a "cunning stunt" to get those past the censors.

Don't like re-dubbed, profanity or watching movies on network TV. Buying or renting a movie of which am aware of content is the preference.

If I have to choose, I prefer bleeped to dubbed.... but I also detest commercial interruptions, I can't stand pan-scan, I abhore the station logo at the bottom of the screen, I hate cut scenes... hell, I'm even annoyed when the damn announcer starts talking over the end credits! So I guess what I'm sayin' is I'm just too damn picky!

In this situation, I would turn off the TV, hop in my car, head to the video store, pay money to rent Die Hard II (widescreen, of course), grab a box of snow-caps while I'm at it, come home, pop it in the DVD player, crank up the sound (aka piss off the cat), and REALLY enjoy it.

I like the re-dubbed because they try so hard to think up a word similar but not a "bad" word and they come up with some ridiculously funny ones. In fact, I think I might like to apply for a job as the person who thinks up those words to dub in.

Movies. Most of the shows I happen to like on TV you can't miss a single episode or you lose the whole plot so I have devoted my self to one TV show which is Lost the most confusing of all. Other than that I am found watching movies.

Well, Alec...this Mustardseed does not watch anything with profanity in it at all at all, so I guess it is a moot point for me to even answer this question, but you know I cannot resist you and I ALWAYS have to put my two cents in no matter what. It's the nature of a Gemini....oh, I mean, year of the Dog. I just learned tonight that Dogs are nosy. So, there you have it!

Be safe.

I hate both and never watch an edited movie. If I had to pick I'd say the re-dubbed words. They're so silly they make me laugh.

I prefer hearing the re-dubbed word. Hilarious!

I like the dubs, just because they are usually so dumb they are funny.
Like on "Friday", Ice Cube and Chris Tucker keep saying "Forget You!".
